Must use usb_modeswitch to flip flop device to modem mode. Read README in usb_modeswitch-1.0.2a.zip which is found on hobbes.nmsu.edu.

Set up dialer to the following (for example injoy dialer)

Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Phone = #777
Username = **********@mycricket.com
Password = cricket

Problem: after hangup, next reconnect does not work. Requires reboot
