ASUS M4A77TD PRO
Mark: Very good This ASUS M4A77TD PRO
- AMD Phenom II 4 core 955 CPU
- 4Gb of DDR3 - 1600(O.C.) ram running at 1333. eCS reads 3.3+Gb of this memory.
- 500Gb SATA HDD.
- On board USB 1.1 and 2.0 work well with RC7
- On board VT1708S High Definition Audio 8 - Channel CODEC work wells with universal audio driver in eCS RC7
- On board Realtek 8112L PCIe Gb LAN - does not work with Genmac Realtek 8168 driver (I will try other drivers later)
SMP works very well with ACPI v3.17 and v3.18 but only with
/SMP /PIC switches. Do NOT use the /SMP /APIC switch
combination suggested by eCS during install or afterwards
as the /APIC switch hangs the machine. Note that I have
not tried adding switches such as !NOD which may improve
/SMP /APIC performance.
Panorama VESA driver works very well with ASUS EAH4350
Silent DI 512Mb DDR2 (ATI) PCI-e video card (Caution:
this fanless video card blocks a PCI slot when it is
installed in either PCI-e slot).
I'm rating this mother board as very good because to
the speed that Virtual PC and Firefox operate in SMP
and in anticipation of finding a good driver for the
on board Realtek 8112L PCIe Gb LAN. Currently the
installed $10 Realtek 8139 PCI NIC works just fine.
Also I haven't tried to install a LSI 20160 SCSI PCI HBA yet in SMP PIC.
