Canon i860 Desktop Photo Printer

This printer works well on eCS 1.04 with the USB connection. The closest Omni print driver was for the i850. It works well for text and standard colour printing. I haven't been able to get envelopes to print from Lotus Word Pro, or to get the 4x5 paper holder to work properly. For Win-OS/2 (Win-eCS) applications the closest match was the Canon BJC-8500 driver. There are a couple of form mismatches here too.

Over-all, for 95% of the printing I have done (which is mostly just documents) this printer works well, and prints quickly. I like the individual ink tanks. It has the PictBridge connector, so you can print directly from PictBridge equipped cameras - which by-passes the computer entirely.

Mark Vollmer 2005-12-13 04:42:59	My setup is different. I use the i860 on a Warp4 FP17 system through a parallel port. I also use the i850 driver. My results are pretty much the same. Hope this helps.
Colin Campbell 2006-01-22 06:28:09	I use this printer with eCS 1.13 and eCS 1.24. For both machines, I use the parallel port, and the Canon i850 driver. My results match those of the first two reviewers. I wish the driver had the ability to emulate duplex printing, or at least specify printing all odd numbered pages, then all even numbered pages.
