HP LaserJet 2550L

Mark: Good

I have had an HP 2550L for the last 18months. It worked perfectly as soon as the USB drivers allowing USB2 were published by IBM (around October 2004 I think). Some time ago I bought the 'Tray 2' attachment, configured it in the property notebooks (plural for PCL + PS...) for the printer, and it ran very good, selecting automatically the first tray if there was paper in it, otherwise using the paper in the second tray. I bought the third tray (500 sheet) last month. I configured it the same way as I did for the second. But although the USB resource manager told me that the printer is connected, the print manager said it was Offline and did not print out anything.

If you ever have such issue, I now know the solution to it : the name of the output port changes when you install the tray. So you have to go to the 'output port' tab in the property notebooks, and install the new USB port that has appeared, then select it for the desired printer (perhaps I also did it for the second tray, however I cannot remember).
