| 2002-04-08 01:11:35 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [ecomstation.ru] | | Andy Porro translated this story to russian language. The original version is published here. The author of the text is Brad Wardell (CEO of Startdock). |

| | | While it has been reported that Convenience Pack 2 and Fixpack 16 were released for the various versions of Warp 4, I have not seen any reports of Fixpack 2 for eCS.

The files for Fixpack 2 for eCS were uploaded to the eComStation site and have been available in the download area since March 15, 2002.

The complete fixpack contains 8 files (files 7 and 8 are only required for SMP systems) and may be installed using eCS Fixtool 1.09 (also available on the download site).

After installation, the kernel is updated to the 14.088 level.

| | | We've been watching for IBM's plans about Linux. Now, we have some information about it. IBM told some intresting facts about future development of OS/2 and Linux.
Programmers, who are working on these projects, are now joined together in one department. This department is porting OS/2 features to a Linux kernel. We already posted a message about their work. Now they almost finished porting OS/2 GUI - Presentation Manager and even WorkPlace Shell.
Due to this situation, we will be giving current OS/2 users all news from Linux world. This reorganization is most natural step by a moment.
The only thing we need is new logo for our site. All penguins are welcome to participate in this competition. |
