Warpstock 2001 has not been cancelled.

2001-09-25 15:21:35 -- Eugene Gorbunoff [VOICENWS, Luc Van Bogaert]

The attack on the World Trade Center has, understandably, caused many people to re-evaluate their travel plans. The Warpstock Board of Directors and the Event Team would like to reassure everyone that Warpstock 2001 has not been cancelled.

Warpstock is proud of the OS/2 Community and that less than a handful of people have told us that they have changed their plans to travel to Toronto. The Warpstock planners encourage all OS/2 users to follow through on their travel plans this October. Thanks to new security procedures, airline travel has never been safer.

The 5th annual Warpstock conference will be held October 6-8, 2001, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is produced by Warpstock, Inc., a North Carolina non-profit corporation. The Warpstock annual conference is a gathering of OS/2 users, developers, and vendors from around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy. More information is available at the Warpstock 2001 website, http://www.warpstock.org or its mirror site: http://warpstock.os2voice.org.

SCOUG meeting cancelled

2001-09-15 19:02:39 -- Igor Vanin [www.os2world.com, Gary Wong]

SCOUG's Sept 15th Meeting Is Cancelled.

Because of the recent events in New York and elsewhere, and resulting difficulties in trying to pull together the pieces for a first class Saturday SCOUG Anniversary meeting, the Board (at my request) has decided to cancel Saturday's meeting. We'll reschedule the anniversary party to our October SCOUG regular meeting. The multible installations of OS/2 will also be rescheduled, perhaps to November as we already have another topic set for October.

We will do our best to notify all members, and would appreciate the help of everyone in letting their SCOUG friends know about the cancellation -- receiving more than one notice is a lot better then driving to Orange for naught.

Thanks for your understanding, and see you in October.

JBS on Warpstock

2001-09-15 18:39:11 -- Igor Vanin [VOICENWS, Luc Van Bogaert]

The Warpstock Committee is pleased to announce that Jacaranda Business Systems (JBS) will be exhibiting at Warpstock 2001. Be sure to visit their booth when you attend Warpstock this year.

Jacaranda Business Systems, Inc. distributes products through a network of Value-Added Resellers, Consultants, Independent Software Vendors, and Original Equipment Manufacturers. They work closely with partners in developing sales and marketing opportunities, as well as assisting with the planning of client demonstrations, training, and customer technical support agreements. They are the distributors of eComStation for Canada and a number of other countries.

JBS will be showcasing eComStation, the new verison of OS/2 Warp from Serenity Systems. If you're looking to update your OS/2 Warp 4 systems, eComStation might be just what you need. eComStation is based on IBM's "Merlin Convenience Pack" (an update to Warp 4), but includes lots of third-party applications, like Lotus SmartSuite. eCS is an excellent upgrade platform for all OS/2 users.
