Addons to eCS File and Directory Standard (eFDS)

ADDON-1: Save all logs to directory defined in %LOGFILES%

Don't write logs to C:\ , not all computers have C: drive. IF no LOGFILES then open log in current directory.

ADDON-2: Where to keep application settings?

Small utility: if it doesn't have own directory then keep settings in OS2.INI; if program has own directory - save settings to this directory (if it's multi-user application then in %home%)

ADDON-3: Hardware databases

  • PCI database of devices: x:\ecs\install\DETECTEI\PCIDEVS.TXT
  • USB database of devices: x:\ecs\SYSTEM\USBDock\usbdock.dat
  • PC models: x:\ecs\install\DETECTEI\pcmodels.dat

 


 

 

ArcaOS 5.1.1 - DOS works again

DOS virtual machine works again (it was working on Core 2 Duo, and didn't for i5). Install ArcaOS in UEFI mode to use DOS VM.

PNG icons on Desktop

eCo Software: it's a significant achievement that we have created PNG icons engine for OS/2 Desktop. and designed the set of system icons. In other words, we have modernized the external view of OS/2.

Now we can discuss how to attract new users.
