dink releases an application which accelerates second start of Mozilla. Download mdh.zip and run 'detach mdh.exe' from Mozilla's directory. The first mozilla load after mdh is loaded is a bit slow, but subsequent loads are about as fast as ns 4.61. vp/2 source code included. |

RU/2 starts a poll related to stolen software. What acquirement was the most unexpected for you? |

That's true. Development of PMView for OS/2 will continue along with the development of the Windows version and other versions. I was recently able to move OS/2 development over to WSeB thanks to ip8605 that finally fixed those nasty NETWKSTA.200 traps that prevented me from using WSeB until now. I've been using Warp Adv Server SMP with the old Warp 3.0 interface until now. What a change! ;-)
It's pretty clear that a future version of PMView will use wxWindows. The OS/2 version of wxWindows seems to have come a long way. Additionally, wxWindows will give me the opportunity to create Linux and Mac versions.
As it looks now, the next version of PMView will be v2.40 and the major new feature will be EXIF support.

There's an article on IBM's "eServer Developer Domain" that talks about porting OS/2 apps to Linux. What makes it interesting is the discussion of differences between OS/2 and Linux, (especially the weaknesses in Linux compared to OS/2.
Slashdot has a discussion on this article and they also have another idiotic discussion about the "death" of OS/2.
I ask all OS/2 users to remind those morons that in order for a product to be declared dead, it would make sense if it were no longer sold, updated, and supported.

As most of you probably know, I worked as the OS/2 Guide for About.com for almost three years before my site, Focus on OS/2 was abruptly terminated. During that time I wrote a large number of articles on various OS/2-related topics. Although I have the copyright for these articles, they have been unavailable to the general OS/2 public--until now.
Many of the people who visited my site regularly expressed a desire to see these articles posted on the Web once again. Recently, Jeremy Workman, one such faithful reader, undertook to do the HTML conversion and reorganization necessary to make the articles "work" on a new site. I would like publicly thank Jeremy for performing all this work for me and for OS/2 users everywhere. If he had not stepped up to the plate, it is likely the articles would have never gotten posted to Warpdoctor.
ALL of my articles originally published on About.com can now be found on the Warpdoctor site on the new area Warped World of OS/2 here.
For the present, the articles contain ONLY the material written while I worked for About.com and is therefore static. However, after I left About I have been writing for other magazines, mostly the VOICE Newsletter, and these articles can be found on my personal website. It is my ultimate hope to put ALL my articles (About.com and otherwise) on my personal site.
